UP Police Exam: Used to make deals for Rs 10 lakh each, two thugs arrested... Mastermind absconding: Many revelations made during interrogation


Two miscreants of the gang who cheated the candidates of Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Examination were arrested by the UP STF Varanasi unit on Friday from Singhpur underpass in Sarnath. Admit cards of 8 candidates, educational certificates of 32, bank checks with signatures of 24, stamp papers with signatures of 18 and three mobile phones were recovered from their possession. 

The accused have been identified as Vijay Kumar Rai, resident of Kachhwa Kotwan, Mirzapur and Prince Kushwaha of Majhlepur in Balua police station area of Chandauli. While the search is on for the mastermind of the gang, Vanshraj Singh Kushwaha, resident of Mangal Mandai, Ghazipur.

Additional SP Vinod Kumar Singh of UP STF Varanasi Field Unit said that Inspectors Anil Kumar Singh, Puneet Parihar and Amit Srivastava have been appointed to keep an eye on the gang that created irregularities in the UP Police Recruitment Examination and cheated the candidates on 17th and 18th February. The team was formed. 

Information was received that gang leader Vanshraj is near Singhpur along with his two associates. He is trying to cheat and cheat some candidates by influencing them. The team raided and arrested Vijay and Prince Kushwaha. During this time, kingpin Vanshraj escaped.

The deal was made for Rs 10-10 lakh

Vijay and Prince Kushwaha told during interrogation that mastermind Vanshraj had contacted the candidates and had fixed a deal for about Rs 10-10 lakh per candidate in the name of getting them to pass the examination. Earlier, Rs 50,000 each, certificate, admit card, bank check and plain stamp paper were taken as advance. 

On February 15, Vanshraj had called some candidates in Buxar (Bihar) in the name of solving the question paper (fake, imaginary question paper) of Uttar Pradesh Police examination, but he did not come. Then he called me to Singhpur on 16th February. 8 candidates were called on the spot and some were waiting.

The examination is conducted in a fake manner by misleading

The accused told that Vanshraj himself had prepared a fake and imaginary question paper of the examination for the recruitment of constable post of Uttar Pradesh Police. When all the concerned candidates would gather there, they would be sent to a secluded place. He would take them, solve the question paper, cheat them and send them back.

Last year, the candidates of Rural Postal Service Examination were also cheated

In 2023, there was recruitment of postman on the basis of merit in Rural Postal Service (GDS) in the Post Office Department, in which some candidates were cheated by this gang by taking Rs 50-50 thousand. ,The candidates from whom money was taken could not be recruited.
