UP Police Recruitment: Court seeks reply from UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board UPPRPB in the matter of relaxation in age limit


UP Police Recruitment: Allahabad High Court
has sought reply from the state government and UP Police Recruitment Board in the matter of five years relaxation in the age limit for Computer Operator Grade-A Recruitment 2023 for 930 posts in the Police Department. Justice Prakash Padia has given this order after hearing advocate Anirudh Pandey on the petition of Prem Dhan Kumar and others. Advocate Advocate Anirudh Pandey says that the state government has given relaxation of three years in the age limit of Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment. This recruitment of Police Computer Operator Grade-A has come after seven years, hence in order of the instructions of the Supreme Court in the case of Covid 19 and Manish Kumar vs Union of India and Govind Kumar vs State of UP, in this recruitment examination also there will be at least five candidates. One year exemption should be given.

The petition states that non-relaxation of age limit violates Fundamental Rights 14 (equality before law) and Article 16 (equality of opportunity in matters of public employment) of the Constitution. Considering the matter as a matter for consideration, the court has sought response on the petition from the state government and the Police Recruitment Board within six weeks. And the petitioner has been asked to file a counter affidavit within two weeks thereafter.

Youth demonstrated for cancellation of UP Police constable recruitment-

 Youths also demonstrated in many districts on Tuesday, alleging that the paper of constable recruitment examination of UP Police held on 17th and 18th February was leaked in the state. In Pratapgarh, the youth reached the tehsil shouting slogans and submitted a memorandum to the SDM. Even after this, the youth continued raising slogans in the tehsil till the arrival of the CRO. People agreed on the assurance of CRO but said that if the exam is not cancelled, they will march on foot till Lucknow.

In Gorakhpur also on Tuesday, candidates gathered and demonstrated near Pant Park in front of Gorakhpur University. Here the candidates from different districts alleged rigging in the examination and demanded cancellation.
