Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has handed over the investigation of Review Officer (RO)/Assistant Review Officer (ARO) paper leak to STF. The committee of the commission will also investigate the matter. The examination was conducted at 2387 centers set up in 58 districts of the state. The exam was held on 11 February. Out of 10,76,004 applicants, 64 percent candidates appeared in the examination.
According to reports, during the preliminary examination of RO-ARO conducted by the Commission on February 11, Praveen Kumar Patel, a candidate from Ram Anjor Mishra Inter College, was caught cheating with a Bluetooth device and was later handed over to the police. After this incident, other candidates created a ruckus at the examination center in Ghazipur, alleging paper leak.
Meanwhile, UPPSC Secretary Ashok Kumar mentioned the formation of an internal committee to investigate the matter. He also said that the Commission has sent a formal recommendation to the state government requesting the STF to investigate the matter.
How many marks was the preliminary exam?
Applicants for these posts are to be selected through preliminary examination, main examination and interview. The preliminary exam is of total 200 marks and in the main exam questions of 400 marks are asked. The official notification for UPPSC RO ARO Recruitment was released by the Commission on 8 October 2023. The application process started from 9 October 2023. The date of main examination has not been announced yet.
How many posts are there to be recruited?
A total of 411 vacant posts are to be filled through this recruitment examination. Which includes 334 vacancies as Review Officer in Secretariat, Police Service Commission and Revenue Board, the remaining seats are for Assistant Review Officer in Secretariat.
Now after this case, the candidates are demanding cancellation of the examination. However, no official announcement has been made by the Commission in this regard yet.
