South Africa has made it to the final, Defeated Afghanistan


South Africa has made it to the final of the triangular series being held on home soil by defeating Afghanistan by 5 wickets in its fourth match. Playing first, Afghanistan were all out for 139 in 45 overs, in reply South Africa scored 140/5 in 25.4 overs. With this victory, South Africa ousted Afghanistan due to better run rate and made it to the finals. 

South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first, which seemed to be completely correct in the initial overs. Afghanistan lost its first four wickets at the score of just 25. Openers Hasan Isaakhil were out after scoring 4 runs and Jamsheed Zadran after scoring 6 runs. Usman Khan Shinwari returned to the pavilion after scoring 1 run and Sohail Khan Jurmati scored 10 runs. From here, captain Numan Shah along with Rahimullah Jurmati made a half-century partnership and took the score beyond 80. Numan scored 35 runs in 62 balls and was out as the fifth wicket at the score of 86.

Nasir Hasan also went out after scoring 6 runs on the score of 99 in the 31st over. Rahimullah Zurmati was also out after scoring 35 runs. Arab Gul contributed 15 runs and was out as the last wicket at the score of 139 in the 45th over. For South Africa, Kwena Mafaka took the maximum of five wickets, while Nqobani Mokoena took three wickets.

Chasing the target, South Africa got its first blow in the fourth over at the score of 32 and Luan-Dre Pretorius was out after scoring 11 runs. The second opener Steve Stoke played an inning of 40 runs in 21 balls with the help of two fours and four sixes. Captain David Tiger was dismissed cheaply and returned to the pavilion after scoring 13 runs. After this two more wickets fell, taking the score to 97/5. From here Oliver Whitehead along with Riley Norton led the team to victory. Whitehead played an unbeaten inning of 33 runs and Norton played an unbeaten inning of 17 runs.
