UPSC NDA & CDS I Examination 2024: Notifications releasing today at upsc.gov.in


Union Public Service Commission will release UPSC NDA & NA I exam 2024 and UPSC CDS I exam 2024 notifications on December 20, 2023. Candidates who want to apply for these examinations mentioned above can check the notifications on the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in. The last date to apply is till January 9, 2024.

Both CDS and NDA & NA examinations will be conducted on April 21, 2024, at various examination centers across the country.

All interested candidates can apply for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2024, and the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2024 by following the steps given below.

UPSC NDA and NA Exam(I) Notification 2024 – Check Eligibility Criteria (Educational Qualification)

1. For Army Wing of National Defense Academy:- Must have passed 12th class with 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or University.

2. For Air Force and Naval Wings of the National Defense Academy and for 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: 12th class passed with Physics, Chemistry and Maths in 10+2 pattern of school education or State conducted equivalent. It is necessary to pass from education board or university. Candidates who are appearing in class 12th or equivalent examination under 10+2 pattern of school education can also apply for this examination.

Visit the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in.

Click on UPSC NDA or UPSC CDS I Examination 2024 link available on the home page.

A new page will open where candidates will have to register.

Once registration is done candidates can login to the account.

Fill the application form and make the payment of application fees.

Click on submit and download the page.

Keep a hard copy of the same for further need.

Application Fee

The application fees for UPSC NDA and UPSC CDS is ₹100/-. The payment of application fees can be done either by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India by cash, or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using internet banking of any Bank. Educational Qualification: 

Candidates must pass Class 12 to be eligible for the NDA exam. For CDS, it is necessary to be a graduate of a recognized university. One must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering to join the Navy, whereas for the Air Force Academy one must have passed Physics and Chemistry in Class 12 along with a Bachelor’s degree.

The UPSC conducts the Combined Defence Services and National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination twice a year. The second phase of examination NDA and NA II and CDS II is scheduled to be held on September 1, 2024, whereas the date of notification is May 15, 2024.

The NDA and CDS exams consist of two phases: a written examination and an interview round. The written examination is organised by the Union Public Service Commission, and the interview is conducted by the Service Selection Board (SSB). The UPSC NDA written exam carries 900 marks and comprises two papers: mathematics and general ability. Out of which, the mathematics paper contains 300 marks, and the general ability test is 600 marks. The duration of each paper is 150 minutes.

However, the UPSC CDS Examination is for IMA, INA, and AFA posts. It consists of three papers: general knowledge, English language, and elementary mathematics. Each paper carries 100 marks, and the time for the exam is 2 hours.
